A later version of this item has already been modified. Other users cannot edit the item until that version is approved or published.

Saw this error the other day on one of my coegues desktop when she was trying to chekc in some file.. I  guess not sure though.

Error - "A later version of this item has already been modified. Other users cannot edit the item until that version is approved or published."

Possible Cause -
 This comes up when content approval is turned on and user who is uploading the file has the file with the same name which is already pending in the library.

Side Note - If that file was approved then the User sees Access denied since he is trying to override the file uploaded by some other user (only if he does not have access to override).

Solution - Chec for Pending files and do not upload files with the same name.
