How to change url for SharePoint site

A Quick tip about how to change the url for an existing sharepoint site -

You can change the SharePoint site name by Site settings -> Title,Description but what if you need to change the url of the SharePoint site... well the answer is simple backup and restore!

You can use stsadm backup and restore command to backup a site and restore it with all its content onto a new(blank) site which will have a new url.

This is the only good way to change the url. You can use Docave or content deployment tool to do this.
